A Royal Visit for Crendon Timber Engineering

We’re delighted to share that Andy Kennedy, the NKADT Manager at Crendon Timber Engineering, along with Ben Dixon and Jim Fletcher, had the honour of representing Grimethorpe Band at a distinguished royal event on Thursday 3rd April. The reception was graciously hosted by His Majesty King Charles at Windsor Castle. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Waterloo Chamber and St George’s Hall, the reception highlighted the essential role of community music in fostering connections among people.
His Majesty graciously welcomed over 350 attendees from across the UK, celebrating grassroots organisations, volunteers, and community leaders who harness the power of music to inspire and unite.
The event commenced with performances from three musical ensembles, followed by an opportunity for guests to meet the King during a drinks reception.
Reflecting on the occasion, Andy expressed his gratitude, stating that “being invited to Windsor Castle by the King to acknowledge the efforts of Grimethorpe Band in supporting local communities was a significant honour.
He emphasised the band’s pride in its longstanding commitment to community engagement and the importance of their Youth and Education programs in nurturing the next generation of musicians.
